Therapy in NYC That Takes Aetna and Cigna
Cost should not be the reason you put this off another year.
Most people searching for a therapist in New York give up somewhere between the third full waitlist and the fourth practice that doesn't take their plan. Here is exactly how coverage works at Kofman Wellness, in plain language, so you can decide in about two minutes.

In network with Aetna and Cigna:
Kate Staikos, MHC-LP is in network with Aetna and Cigna. If you have one of those plans, you pay your copay and nothing else. We verify your benefits before your first session so there are no surprises afterward.

Out of network with everything else:
Sessions with Yana Kofman, LMHC-D are private pay. Many PPO plans reimburse a meaningful portion of an out-of-network session, and we provide a monthly superbill you submit to your insurer. Not every plan includes out-of-network benefits, so it is worth calling the number on your card and asking two questions: do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage, and what is my deductible.

What this means practically:
You can start within days rather than months
Sessions are by secure video anywhere in New York State
No commute, no waiting room, no running into anyone
We tell you what something costs before you book it

If you are unsure which of us is the right fit or what your plan actually covers, ask. We offer a short complimentary consultation, sometimes five minutes and sometimes fifteen, and part of it is simply sorting out the logistics honestly.
